Islamabad (TrustedPakistan.com):
The Government of Pakistan has announced that electricity bills for August 2025 will be suspended in flood-affected districts. This decision aims to provide financial relief to families who lost homes, crops, and businesses due to heavy rains and overflowing rivers.
According to the Ministry of Energy, households and small businesses in disaster-hit regions will not be required to pay electricity bills for August. The government is also considering further subsidies and special support for people who continue to face power outages and damages.
This step has been welcomed by locals, but many have urged the government to also reduce future bills until floodwaters completely recede.
